Reported Leader of Neo-Nazi Network Has Roots in New Jersey
New Jersey Strong news – Trenton, NJ: NJOHSP At A Glance reports 1.27.2020.
A media report identifying the leader of a neo-Nazi network recently linked to multiple FBI arrests stated he intermittently lived at an apartment in New Jersey. In naming Rinaldo Nazzaro (pictured), 46, as the founder of The Base, The Guardian noted an older family member owned the apartment since 1998, and he occasionally stayed there with his wife. The report also said Nazzaro may have graduated from a Catholic school in Morris County in 1991. Nazzaro is currently directing The Base from Russia, where he lives with his wife and a child. The couple married in New York City in 2012, when Nazzaro had a residence in midtown Manhattan. Nazzaro operates under the aliases “Norman Spear” and “Roman Wolf” in online communications with members of The Base, which formed in 2018. The Guardian noted that property records showed he purchased three 10-acre blocks of undeveloped land in Ferry County, Washington, in December 2018 through a Delaware-based company, Base Global LLC. Deeds of the sale listed a New Jersey post office as the company’s address. Authorities have focused on The Base in recent counterterrorism efforts. The FBI arrested seven people linked to the group in the days leading up to a gun rights rally in Virginia on various charges, including firearms offenses, alien-harboring, and conspiracy to commit murder.
